If you’ve been in our shop within the past few months, you may have noticed a few new faces around. One of those faces belongs to Justin Carothers. Justin started work with Certified Diesel Solutions in May, but he’s not new to “turning wrenches” by any means.
Before coming to us, he worked in the trucking industry for a while, as well as was a mechanic working on agricultural equipment for Meade Tractor. He’s grew up working on stuff with his dad, who taught him a lot. Justin enjoys the laid-back atmosphere of the shop and hopes to stay with CDS for a while. One of his favorite aspects of working in the shop is it allows more than mechanics; Justin went to welding school and has the opportunity with Certified Diesel Solutions to do some fabricating. When it comes to automotive and diesel repair, Justin and the rest of the CDS crew do it all—from changing a light bulb to a complete engine overhaul. Every day is different, and you never know what you’re going to get. He enjoys the fact that he gets to know customers on a deeper, more personal level, since most customers are repeat clients who bring their car or semitruck in for regular maintenance.
Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Justin moved to Tennessee about 6 years ago. When he’s not at work, Justin can be found hanging out with his wife, Jessica, and two kids, a 15-year-old boy and 11-year-old girl. He loves to hunt and hunts just about anything, although deer hunting is his favorite because you get to relax and chill while waiting for the deer to come around. Bonus fun fact—Justin actually used to tournament fish!
